On Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 the Liberal City Commission addressed the following items during their regularly scheduled meeting:
Consent Agenda items (airport leases and traffic safety committee minutes) were approved by the Commission.
The Commission voted to accept the donation of an aircraft for the Mid-America Air Museum collection.
Commissioners voted to approve a Wastewater Improvement Fee waiver to assist eligible applicants with utility expenses. The benefit waives the $10.00 wastewater improvement fee being implemented on April 1, 2025. Customers already receiving the existing Water Improvement Fee Waiver benefit will be automatically grandfathered to receive the new fee waiver.
The Commission approved the transfer of $221,646 in funds from the one-cent sales tax fund (streets, drainage, and other capital improvements) to the construction fund to credit the amount towards the Wastewater Treatment Plant project account. These funds were requested as a change order in 2022 to clear and grade the Can Ditch near the treatment plant.
The next regularly scheduled Liberal City Commission meeting will take place April 22nd, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.
