
On Tuesday, August 22nd, the Liberal City Commission addressed the following items during their regularly scheduled meeting:
The meeting began with a ribbon cutting ceremony courtesy of the Liberal Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the opening of the new city commission chambers. The chambers are located inside the Liberal Recreation Center at 950 S. Grant Ave.
Consent Agenda items (Airport Leases), were approved by the Commission.
The Commission approved changes to the community
rental building contract to include a 50 percent discount on regular building rental rates for non-profit organizations.
Commissioners approved the purchase of three water pumps to replace aging equipment at Adventure Bay Water Park.
The Commission also approved the purchase of a replacement sprayer unit to be used for turf maintenance at the Willow Tree Golf Course.
Commissioners received an update regarding potential railroad overpass sites and federal grant funding opportunities. Following discussion, Commissioners directed staff to pursue planning project funding to further evaluate both Pershing Avenue and Western Avenue railroad crossing sites for potential grade separation.
The next regularly scheduled Liberal City Commission meeting will take place September 12th at 5:30 p.m.
